Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.5, the latest and most powerful model in the Claude 4.5 series. This model brings major improvements in code generation, long-context reasoning, and tool usage—all while using fewer tokens for complex tasks. Opus 4.5 is now available through the Claude API and major cloud platforms, replacing Opus 4.1 as Anthropic’s premier commercial model.
Opus 4.5 handles long-horizon programming tasks better than previous versions.
It uses up to 65% fewer tokens, reducing computational cost.
These improvements come from stronger internal planning and more efficient reasoning steps.
The model manages multi-step workflows more effectively.
It coordinates multiple agents while handling both high-level plans and detailed execution.
It calls only task-relevant tools, reducing context usage by up to 85%.
Claude Opus 4.5 can generate long-form content consistently, including 10–15 page narrative chapters.
It also performs better in complex 3D reasoning tasks.
In internal tests, Opus 4.5 scored 80.9% on the SWE-Bench Verified benchmark, outperforming Gemini 3 Pro (76.2%) and GPT-5.1 Codex Max (77.9%).
It delivers similar or better performance than older versions at nearly one-third the cost.
Claude Opus 4.5 is now available to paid subscribers through Claude’s web and app platforms, the Claude API, and major cloud providers like Google Vertex AI and Amazon Bedrock.
