Asus, Lenovo Googlebook Laptops Leak Ahead of Launch

Google introduced its new Googlebook laptop lineup in May and announced partnerships with Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo to develop the first generation of devices. Ahead of the official launch, purported renders of the upcoming Asus and Lenovo Googlebook laptops have surfaced online, providing an early glimpse of their designs. Both models appear to feature a slim form factor and a distinctive glow bar integrated into the lid, which could be used for notifications and charging indicators. The Asus model is shown in a carbon-grey finish, while the Lenovo version appears in light grey.

The leaked renders also reveal several connectivity options. The Asus Googlebook is expected to feature HDMI, two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Lenovo model appears to include HDMI, two USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A port and a headphone jack. The Asus laptop is also tipped to use an Ultra-Ceramic Light Alloy chassis. Both models are expected to feature Gemini Intelligence, Chrome browser, Google Play Store and Google's Magic Pointer feature. The laptops are likely to be unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin, although Google has not yet officially confirmed the launch details.
