Apple is reportedly planning a major shift in its artificial intelligence strategy by expanding Siri’s capabilities. The company is expected to move beyond its current limited integrations and allow Siri to work with multiple third party AI assistants, aiming to strengthen its position in the competitive AI space. These changes are likely to be introduced with future software updates.
Under the new approach, users may be able to choose which AI service handles their queries through a dedicated settings system. This would make interactions more flexible, removing the need for manual prompts to switch between services. It could also open new revenue opportunities for Apple through subscriptions to third party AI services available via its app marketplace.
Apple is also working to transform Siri into a more advanced assistant with deeper system integration. The upgraded version is expected to offer contextual awareness enabling it to provide more personalised and relevant responses. Additionally, a standalone Siri application is said to be in development, featuring a chat-style interface with options to manage past conversations, search chats, and interact using both text and voice.
