Apple is reportedly working on a new artificial intelligence-powered wearable device, known as an AI Pin. The Cupertino-based tech giant is said to be exploring a voice-activated standalone pin, aiming to revisit an idea that other companies previously attempted. The device is expected to feature cameras, microphones, a speaker, and a physical button, making it an independent gadget rather than a companion accessory.
According to a report by The Information, the AI Pin could be similar in size to Apple’s AirTag and powered by the upcoming AI-enhanced version of Siri, expected to launch later this spring. The device is said to have a thin, flat, circular design with an aluminium and glass body. It may include two front-facing cameras one standard lens and one wide-angle lens designed for capturing photos and videos.
The report also suggests that the AI Pin will feature a three-microphone array, a built-in speaker, and wireless charging support. However, the project is still in its early stages and may not launch until 2027, with the possibility of cancellation if development does not progress as planned. In addition, Apple is reportedly preparing a new smart home hub with a robotic swivelling base, a 7-inch display, and speakers, signaling the company’s deeper push into the smart home ecosystem.
