Anthropic has introduced a new Google Workspace integration that allows Claude to work directly inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. The AI assistant appears in a sidebar alongside the open file, allowing users to ask Claude to analyse selected text, cells or slides and make changes without switching between applications. In Google Docs, Claude can improve sentences, modify headings and suggest larger edits.
The integration also brings several productivity features to Google Sheets and Slides. Claude can help create formulas, pivot tables, charts and new tabs in Sheets, while it can generate slides using an existing presentation design and identify issues such as overlapping elements or difficult-to-read text in Slides. Anthropic has also introduced beta connectors that allow users to create and edit Google files directly from Claude conversations. The feature is now available in public beta for all paid Claude plans, with users able to choose between approving individual edits or allowing Claude to apply changes automatically.
