Anthropic Brings Claude Data Processing to Servers in India

AI company Anthropic has announced that it has begun processing data generated in India through servers located within the country. The move is aimed at meeting data localization requirements and applies to its Claude AI services, including Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5.

Under the new arrangement, queries submitted to Claude AI by users in India will be processed through servers within the country. Anthropic India Managing Director Irina Ghosh said the decision was taken in response to customer requirements. The company has also been strengthening its presence in India as part of its expansion plans and recently established an office in Bengaluru.
