The growing reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools among Indians is raising serious concerns, according to the ‘India Survey for EdTech–2025.’ The report reveals that nearly 65 percent of Indians are actively using AI tools, which is more than double the global average of 31 percent. Many users now believe that AI understands them better than humans, indicating a shift in dependency patterns. Experts warn that such overreliance could impact independent thinking and decision-making abilities in the long run.
The survey also highlights a sharp increase in AI usage among children, which is particularly worrying. Excessive dependence on AI at a young age may reduce creativity and critical thinking skills. Educators stress the need for balanced usage, encouraging children to think independently rather than relying entirely on AI-driven solutions. The findings underline the importance of regulating AI usage and promoting responsible digital habits.
