Google has expanded the capabilities of its AI powered research and note taking platform, NotebookLM, by bringing slide deck and infographic customisation features to its mobile apps. Previously limited to the web version, these tools are designed to help students and professionals create presentations directly from their notes using AI technologies such as Gemini and Nano Banana.
With the latest update, users can now access a pencil icon next to Infographics and Slide Decks within the tool menu on the mobile app. This opens a customisation interface where users can adjust the style of the output. While the content remains unchanged and is based on the notebook’s sources, users can choose between Detailed Decks for reading and sharing, or Presenter Slides for classrooms and office presentations. Slide length and personalised prompts can also be adjusted.
Additionally, mobile users can customise infographics by changing orientation, length, and language, though extended “long” formats are currently restricted to Google AI Ultra subscribers. The update also follows the recent rollout of full screen video overviews on mobile, allowing users to generate AI-powered video presentations with voiceovers and visual slides directly on their smartphones.
