Adobe and Runway have announced a multi-year strategic partnership. The collaboration integrates Runway’s generative video technology with Adobe’s creative tools. Adobe, based in San Jose, becomes Runway’s preferred API creativity partner, while Adobe’s Firefly platform will gain early access to Runway’s new video-generation AI models.
Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer, said, “Runway’s generative video innovation combined with Adobe’s trusted professional workflows will empower creators and brands to expand their creative potential and meet the growing demands of modern content and media production.” Adobe users will get early access to the Gen-4.5 model, and Firefly Pro subscribers can generate unlimited videos using it until December 22.
Runway’s latest video model enhances motion quality, instruction-following, and visual fidelity. Users can generate complex, multi-element scenes with realistic physics and expressive characters. Generated videos can be edited professionally in Firefly Video Editor, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other Creative Cloud applications.
Additionally, Adobe and Runway plan to collaborate with independent filmmakers, major studios, agencies, streaming platforms, Fortune 500 brands, and global enterprises to co-develop new video capabilities within Adobe tools for professional use.
