Adobe has announced the integration of Adobe Acrobat with WhatsApp Web and the WhatsApp for Windows application, enabling users to view and collaborate on PDF documents without leaving the chat window. The update allows users to open PDF files directly within WhatsApp, eliminating the need to download documents or switch to a separate application. Users can also scroll, zoom, and view PDFs in their original format while using annotation tools such as highlighting, strike-through, underlining, and other lightweight markups.
The company said the integration is designed to improve productivity for businesses, students, and professionals by making document sharing and feedback more convenient. Users can annotate files, add comments, and mark important sections directly inside WhatsApp chats. Adobe also confirmed that password-protected PDFs will remain secure and that documents shared through WhatsApp will continue to benefit from the platform's end-to-end encryption. The feature is part of Adobe's broader strategy to enhance Acrobat with AI-powered capabilities and seamless collaboration tools.
