1Password has unveiled a new integration for Anthropic's Claude AI that enables secure website logins without revealing passwords or one-time passcodes. Every login request requires biometric approval, while credentials remain safely stored inside the user's 1Password vault and are never shared with Claude or Anthropic. Access is automatically revoked once the requested task is completed.
Alongside the integration, the company has introduced Agentic Mode for its browser extension. The feature ensures AI agents can access only the credentials explicitly approved by users for a specific task, keeping the rest of the vault protected. The integration is currently available for Mac users on eligible 1Password plans, with support for payment cards and identity information expected in a future update.
