Josephine Nkomo will captain Zimbabwe’s women’s cricket team during its upcoming limited-overs tour of India. The selectors have reportedly retained the squad that faced the West Indies recently. Zimbabwe made headlines by securing a surprise victory in the second match of the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies. The team will now prepare for a challenging assignment in India, where it is scheduled to play three T20 internationals and three One-Day Internationals.
The T20I series is scheduled to begin on October 16, followed by the ODI series on October 23. The announced squad includes Josephine Nkomo (captain), Beloved Biza, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Kelis Ndhlovu, Michelle Mavunga, Francisca Chipare, Olinder Chare, Kudakwashe Chigora, Nyasha Gwanzura, Nomvelo Sibanda, Lorine Phiri, Chiedza, Modester Mupachikwa, Tendai Makusha and Sharne Mayers. The tour will provide Zimbabwe with an opportunity to test its strength against India in both formats.
