

In a thrilling encounter of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Mumbai Indians (MI) registered an impressive 15-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Monday. With this crucial win, Mumbai kept their playoff hopes alive in the tournament.
The 16th match, held at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, saw Mumbai post a massive 199 for 4 in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered a sensational performance, scoring an unbeaten 100 off 57 balls, becoming the first-ever centurion in WPL history. Hayley Matthews contributed with a fine half-century (56), while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur added 20 runs. Chasing a daunting target of 200, RCB managed 184 for 9 despite a heroic knock of 90 off 50 balls by Richa Ghosh. Mumbai bowlers Shabnim Ismail, Amelia Kerr, and Hayley Matthews picked up key wickets to seal the victory.
