

In the 14th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 held on Thursday, Gujarat Giants delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat UP Warriorz by 45 runs. The match, played at the Vadodara venue, marked a strong comeback for Gujarat as they climbed to second place on the points table with four points.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Gujarat Giants posted a competitive total of 153/8 in 20 overs. Opener Beth Mooney provided a solid start with 38 runs, while Sophie Devine anchored the innings with an unbeaten half-century, scoring 50 off 42 balls, including three sixes and two boundaries. In response, UP Warriorz struggled against disciplined bowling and were bowled out for 108 in 17.3 overs. Rajeshwari Gaikwad starred with the ball, claiming three crucial wickets for just 16 runs. Sophie Devine, who also picked up a key wicket, was named Player of the Match. This victory helped Gujarat Giants snap their three-match losing streak in the tournament.
