Despite being one of the most consistent teams in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Delhi Capitals (DC) have struggled to clinch the title in finals. On February 5, 2026, DC once again fell short in the WPL final, marking their fourth consecutive runner-up finish in the tournament.
Batting first in the final, Delhi Capitals posted a massive 203/4, the highest total ever in a WPL final. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) chased down the target to claim the title for the second time. Under new captain Jemima Rodrigues, who scored a brilliant 57, Delhi displayed resilience but couldn’t convert it into a victory. Analysts noted that while Delhi performs consistently during the league stage, they continue to struggle under the pressure of finals, failing to break the so-called "finals jinx."
