In a thrilling encounter of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 7 wickets at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday. With this victory, Delhi Capitals brought an end to RCB’s impressive five-match winning streak in the tournament.
After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals opted to bowl first and their decision paid rich dividends. The DC bowlers delivered a disciplined and aggressive performance, dismantling the RCB batting lineup. Despite skipper Smriti Mandhana trying to steady the innings, the RCB middle order collapsed under pressure. As a result, RCB were bowled out for just 109 runs. Marizanne Kapp and Nandini Sharma were the standout performers with the ball, with Nandini picking up crucial wickets to restrict RCB to a modest total.
Chasing a small target, Delhi Capitals lost early wickets of Shafali Verma (16) and Lizelle Lee (6). However, the team showed composure and never looked under pressure. A crucial partnership between Laura Wolvaardt (42) and Marizanne Kapp (19) guided DC to victory without any further damage. Delhi Capitals reached the target in just 15.4 overs, losing only three wickets.

With this win, Delhi Capitals moved up to second place on the points table, strengthening their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. This match marked the first defeat of the season for RCB, who had been unbeaten until now.
Marizanne Kapp was named Player of the Match for her outstanding all-round performance, contributing with key wickets and playing a crucial finishing role with the bat.
