World Title for Sharvanika

Sharvanika, hailing from Tamil Nadu, demonstrated exceptional talent by clinching the title in the Under-12 Girls' category at the FIDE World Rapid Championship. A remarkable highlight of this tournament, currently underway in Serbia, was her emerging as the winner with two rounds still remaining. Securing 10 victories and drawing one match out of a total of 11 rounds, she topped the standings with 10.5 points.

She sealed the title in the ninth round by defeating her formidable opponent, Ema Jaksa. Notably, this marks Sharvanika's second world title at the tender age of just 11. Having previously won a gold medal in the Under-10 World Cadet Championship, she also secured a silver medal at the World Blitz Championship held in 2024.
