Women’s Premier League Hit by Rain Again

Rain disrupted the Women’s Premier League for the second consecutive day, with both matches scheduled at the ACA Stadium in Mangalagiri on Thursday abandoned without a ball being bowled. Persistent rain from the morning forced the afternoon clash between Vizag Fire Birds and Rayalaseema Zen Stars to be called off, while the evening match between Amaravati E Champions and Godavari Golden Eagles also met the same fate. All four teams were awarded one point each. Rayalaseema, Amaravati and Godavari now have six points apiece, with Rayalaseema leading the table on net run rate (+0.643), followed by Amaravati (+0.383) and Godavari (-0.164).

Vizag Fire Birds, who have lost all three of their matches, have been eliminated from the final race with two points. The final two league matches are scheduled for Friday, with Godavari facing Vizag in the afternoon and Rayalaseema taking on Amaravati in the evening. However, rain could once again affect both games. If both matches are washed out, Rayalaseema and Amaravati will qualify for the final by virtue of finishing in the top two positions in the league standings.
