Indian cricket superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have returned to domestic cricket after a long gap, following the directive issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Kohli is representing Delhi after a gap of seven years, while Rohit is playing for Mumbai after 15 years, both featuring in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Both batters made a strong impact on the opening day of the tournament on December 24. Rohit Sharma starred for Mumbai against Sikkim, while Virat Kohli stole the spotlight with a brilliant century for Delhi against Andhra Pradesh. Their impressive performances have left fans eager to know when the two legends will next take the field.
Next Match Date and Venue
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will both be in action again on December 26 (Friday).
Delhi vs Gujarat will be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru, featuring Virat Kohli.
Mumbai vs Uttarakhand will take place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, where Rohit Sharma will represent Mumbai.
Both matches are scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM IST.
Why There Will Be No Live Streaming
Despite the star presence, fans will not be able to watch these matches live. During the Vijay Hazare Trophy, all 38 teams compete simultaneously, resulting in 19 matches being played at the same time. As per BCCI’s standard broadcasting policy - similar to the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy - only a limited number of matches are telecast.
Currently, broadcast facilities are available only at Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad) and Niranjan Shah Stadium (Rajkot). Since Delhi and Mumbai are playing their matches in Bengaluru and Jaipur, respectively, there will be no live telecast or streaming of Virat Kohli’s and Rohit Sharma’s upcoming games.
