In the first ODI between India and New Zealand held at Vadodara on Sunday, Team India defeated the Kiwis by 4 wickets. Veteran players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli showcased excellent form, while star batter and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had already been ruled out of the series after sustaining an injury during practice sessions.
However, during the match, Team India’s star all-rounder Washington Sundar struggled with severe back pain. He bowled only 5 overs before leaving the field, with Dhruv Jurel taking over fielding duties. Even during batting, Sundar appeared to be in discomfort. It remains unclear whether he will play in the upcoming match or be ruled out for the rest of the series.
