Unexpected Development for Axar Patel Amid Delhi’s Victory!

Delhi Capitals registered a thrilling victory against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2026 match played on Monday. Chasing a massive target of 211 runs, Delhi completed the chase in just 19 overs and kept their playoff hopes alive. Captain Axar Patel and David Miller played crucial innings, scoring half centuries to guide the team to an impressive win.

Despite the victory, the BCCI fined Axar Patel ₹12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during the match in Dharamshala. According to Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, this was Delhi Capitals’ first offence of the season, resulting only in a monetary penalty. Several captains, including Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya, have also faced similar penalties this season.
