Indian shooter Udayveer Sidhu clinched the gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup on Sunday. The 24-year-old topped the final with a score of 240.6 points, narrowly beating Germany’s Christian Reitz, who finished second with 240.1 points. The 0.5-point margin made the contest particularly intense, with both shooters battling closely for the top spot until the final stages.
Udayveer produced a composed performance under pressure to secure the title. Heading into the final two shots, he was trailing Reitz by 0.3 points. However, he scored 10.2 and 9.8 in his final attempts to remain in contention. Reitz managed 9.6 points in each of his last two shots, allowing the Indian shooter to move ahead and claim gold. Paolo Monna secured the bronze medal with 219.8 points, completing the podium.
