US President Donald Trump is set to attend the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final between Argentina and Spain, the White House has officially confirmed. According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Trump will first participate in a special FIFA event at Trump Tower in New York before travelling to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to watch the final on Sunday.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has also announced that he and Trump will jointly present the World Cup trophy to the winning team after the final. Although neither Trump nor Vice President JD Vance attended any of the tournament's first 102 matches, cabinet members were present at several US team games. Meanwhile, recent discussions between Trump and Infantino over Folarin Balogun's suspension drew attention, though Infantino clarified that there was no political interference in FIFA's disciplinary process.
