In an outstanding performance at the World Cup in Granada, Telugu shooter Nelavalli Mukesh clinched the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Partnering with Palak Gulia from Haryana, the duo scored 487.7 points in the final, setting a new world record. They surpassed the previous record of 481.3 points held by the Uzbekistan pair.
Mukesh scored 244.7 points while Palak contributed 243 points, securing the top position. The Chinese team won silver, and Hungary claimed bronze in the event. This marks Mukesh’s first medal in the senior category, while he has already won 22 international medals in the junior division. He is set to compete in the individual event on Wednesday.
