

India produced a commanding all-round performance to register a convincing victory over South Africa in the third T20 match at Dharamsala. While the bowlers delivered an excellent effort to restrict the visitors, the batters chased down the target without any pressure. India comfortably reached the modest target of 118 runs, losing just three wickets, and took a 2–1 lead in the five-match T20 series.
Chasing 118, Team India got off to a solid start as Abhishek Sharma (35) and Shubman Gill (28) added 60 runs for the opening wicket. After their dismissals, Tilak Varma (26 not out) stayed till the end to complete the formalities. Captain Suryakumar Yadav (12) continued his poor run with the bat. India eventually reached the target in just 15.5 overs, losing three wickets.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl first. South Africa’s top order collapsed under the fiery spells of Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, slipping to three wickets down for just seven runs. Eight South African batters were dismissed for single-digit scores, while Aiden Markram (61) fought a lone battle. Donovan (20) and Nortje (12) were the only other batters to reach double figures.
For India, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy picked up two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube claimed one wicket apiece. South Africa were bowled out for 117 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, the Indian batters dominated the chase and sealed the match with a comprehensive seven-wicket victory.
