Ireland delivered a stunning performance in this T20 World Cup. The tournament saw the highest individual score and one of the highest team totals. In the match against Oman in Colombo, Ireland piled up a massive 235/5 in 20 overs.
The real fireworks came at the end of the innings. Ireland smashed 86 runs in the final four overs. Even more impressive, they scored 156 runs in the last 10 overs, completely taking the game away from Oman. In reply, Oman managed only 139 runs in 18 overs.
This total placed Ireland among the highest team scores in Men’s T20 World Cup history. Sri Lanka’s 260/6 vs Kenya (2007) and England’s 230/8 vs South Africa (2016) remain iconic and Ireland’s 235/5 vs Oman (2026) now proudly joins that list. Ireland sealed the match with a dominant 96-run victory.
