India captain Suryakumar Yadav reacted to the criticism surrounding the seeding system used for the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He said he was not aware of who designed the format but added that if he were in that position, he would have tried to ensure a more balanced structure. The system has drawn criticism for not giving any advantage to teams that performed strongly in the league stage.
He also clarified that playing matches across different venues would not be a challenge, as most players are already accustomed to such conditions through domestic premier tournaments. Under the pre-tournament seeding system, India, South Africa, and other teams were placed in the same group, sparking debate among fans and experts about fairness.
