Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), owned by Kavya Maran, have qualified for the IPL 19 playoffs, finishing third on the points table. The team will now face the Eliminator match on May 27 in New Chandigarh. A win in this match will take them to Qualifier 2 on May 29 at the same venue, bringing them closer to the final.
SRH have a strong history in knockout matches, having won the IPL title in 2016 after a successful playoff run. In that season, they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions before beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final to lift their maiden trophy. Chennai Super Kings also previously reached the final via the Eliminator in 2011 but failed to win the title.
This season, SRH’s biggest strength has been their explosive batting lineup. Players like Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan have delivered consistently. On the bowling side, Ishaan Malinga and Sakib Hussain have performed strongly. With a balanced squad, SRH are seen as strong contenders to repeat history and possibly become the first team to win the IPL title twice after playing the Eliminator.
