Sunrisers Hyderabad is reportedly upset over a controversial incident that took place during their match against Lucknow. The team is planning to file an official complaint with the BCCI regarding the behavior of opposing player Avesh Khan. They are also unhappy with some umpiring decisions in recent matches.
The incident happened in the final over bowled by Jaydev Unadkat. On the fifth ball, Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant hit the ball towards long-off. Before the ball could reach the boundary, Avesh Khan, who was near the dugout, used a bat in his hand to hit the ball back into the field. Sunrisers argue that the ball was still in play and they should have been awarded penalty runs. However, the umpires did not change their decision, stating that there was no fielder involved and it was not an attempt to stop a boundary.
Sunrisers have also expressed dissatisfaction over previous umpiring decisions, including Heinrich Klaasen’s dismissal in the match against Bengaluru and Abhishek Sharma’s catch in the game against Kolkata. Even though the results will not change now, the team has decided to bring these repeated issues to the attention of the BCCI.
