A dramatic contest unfolded in the T20 World Cup 2026 as South Africa secured a sensational victory over Afghanistan after two Super Overs. Batting first, South Africa posted 187/6 in 20 overs. Afghanistan responded strongly but were bowled out for 187 in 19.4 overs, forcing the match into a Super Over.

In the first Super Over, Afghanistan scored 17 without losing a wicket. South Africa were 11/1 in five balls before Tristan Stubbs smashed a six off the final delivery to force a second Super Over. In the decisive over, David Miller struck two sixes and Stubbs added another as South Africa piled up 23 without loss. Afghanistan managed 19/2 in reply, handing South Africa a thrilling win.
