An on-field exchange between India captain Shreyas Iyer and West Indies hard-hitter Shimron Hetmyer during the third T20 match in Indore has reportedly come to light. During the West Indies innings, Hetmyer was seen engaging in an extended conversation with the non-striker before Naman Dhir was about to bowl. Iyer reportedly approached the umpire and complained that the West Indies batters were taking too much time between overs, potentially putting India at a disadvantage by leaving the team with one fewer fielder outside the 30-yard circle. The umpire subsequently warned the West Indies batters against delaying the game.
According to reports, Hetmyer responded sharply to Iyer, telling him to focus on bowling while he took his time talking. Iyer reportedly chose not to escalate the exchange. However, the situation took an interesting turn when Naman Dhir dismissed Hetmyer in the same over. Iyer’s smiling reaction as Hetmyer walked back towards the pavilion subsequently attracted attention on social media. The incident has become a talking point among cricket fans, with the captain’s reaction drawing particular interest.
