

India delivered a thrilling performance to clinch the gold medal in the women’s recurve team event at the World Cup Stage 2. The trio of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat, and Kumkum held their nerve in a nail-biting final shoot-off to defeat top favourites China 5-4 (28-26) on Sunday. Their remarkable composure under pressure secured a memorable victory for India.
China entered the final as the favourites, but the Indian team showcased exceptional skill and determination to pull off a stunning upset. Meanwhile, South Korea secured the bronze medal in the event. This victory marked a significant achievement for the Indian women’s recurve team on the global stage.
India concluded the World Cup campaign with one gold and one bronze medal. In the compound men’s category, Sahil Jadhav won a bronze medal. However, in the women’s individual recurve bronze medal match, Simranjeet Kaur narrowly lost 4-6 to Zhang Min of South Korea, finishing just outside the podium.
