

Indian Grandmasters faced a disappointing outing in the sixth round of the prestigious Norway Chess Tournament, with R Praggnanandhaa, D Gukesh, Koneru Humpy, and Divya Deshmukh all suffering defeats. In the Open section, Gukesh went down to Germany’s rising star Vincent Keymer, while Praggnanandhaa lost to table-topper Wesley So of the United States. Meanwhile, title favourite Magnus Carlsen registered a crucial victory over France’s Alireza Firouzja to strengthen his position in the standings.
In the women’s section, Divya Deshmukh was defeated by China’s Ju Wenjun, while Koneru Humpy lost her match to Assaubayeva. The round proved challenging for the Indian contingent, as top players struggled to maintain momentum against strong international opponents in the tournament.
