

Following Bangladesh's decision to withdraw from the T20 World Cup 2026, which is to be held in India, due to security concerns, the ICC has given Scotland the opportunity to participate. Scotland has officially announced its 15-member squad for this mega-tournament. Richie Berrington will captain the Scottish team in the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7th. Cricket Scotland officials expressed confidence that they are fully prepared to compete in the conditions of the Indian subcontinent. Scotland will compete in Group C against England, Italy, Nepal, and West Indies. Their first match will be against West Indies on February 7th at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
