Satwik-Chirag’s World Championship Medal Hopes End in Quarterfinals

India’s star men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty’s hopes of winning another medal at the World Championships came to an end in the quarterfinals. The world No. 5 Indian duo faced China’s world No. 3 pair Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang on Friday.

Satwik and Chirag struggled to find their rhythm from the beginning and lost the opening game 18–21. The Chinese pair continued to dominate in the second game, leaving the Indians unable to make a comeback. The match ended in just 36 minutes, with Liang and Wang winning 21–9 to seal their place in the semifinals.
