India’s star men’s doubles combination Satwik and Chirag continued their impressive run at the China Masters Super 750 badminton tournament. In Friday’s quarterfinal, the Indian pair defeated Denmark’s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21-13, 16-21, 21-18 in a hard-fought three-game battle to secure a place in the semifinals.
However, veteran Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth could not progress beyond the quarterfinal stage. The 33-year-old went down 16-21, 16-21 against Hong Kong’s world No. 25 Lee Chia-Hao. With Srikanth’s campaign coming to an end, Satwik and Chirag remain India’s major challenge for the title in the tournament.
