India’s star men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, fell short in their bid to clinch a third Thailand Open title after finishing runners-up in the final on Sunday. The Indian duo lost 12-21, 23-25 to Indonesia’s Rolly and Daniel in a gripping summit clash despite saving four championship points in the second game.

The defeat ended Satwik-Chirag’s hopes of adding another Thailand Open crown to their earlier triumphs in 2019 and 2024. Though they fought back brilliantly in the second game and pushed the contest to the limit, the Indonesian pair held their nerve to secure the title in Bangkok.
