Rajasthan Royals sealed the final IPL 2026 playoff berth with a thrilling victory over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. In a high-pressure clash, Rajasthan outplayed Mumbai with a strong all-round performance, knocking Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals out of the playoff race. Jofra Archer starred with both bat and ball, smashing 32 runs and later dismantling Mumbai’s batting line-up with figures of 3/17.
Chasing a challenging target, Mumbai Indians struggled right from the start as Archer dismissed Rohit Sharma for a duck in the opening over. Naman Dhir and Ryan Rickelton also fell cheaply, putting Mumbai under pressure early in the innings. Suryakumar Yadav fought a lone battle with a fighting 60, but lacked support from the other end as Mumbai failed to recover from the early collapse.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals posted a competitive total despite losing quick wickets in the powerplay. Dhruv Jurel’s valuable 38 and Archer’s aggressive knock rescued the innings, while late contributions helped Rajasthan cross the 200-run mark. With their eighth win of the season and 16 points, Rajasthan booked an Eliminator clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
