Rajasthan Royals have reportedly offered multiple key positions to India head coach Gautam Gambhir. According to reports, the IPL franchise has proposed roles such as Mentor, Chief Executive Officer, or Strategic Partner to Gambhir. The development comes amid speculation that ownership stakes within the franchise may change hands. However, sources indicate that Gambhir is unlikely to accept the offer, as he is currently serving as the head coach of the Indian national team.
As per his contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Gambhir is set to continue as India’s head coach until the 2027 World Cup. He is presently focused on preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, and also has his sights on the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa. Cricket experts believe Gambhir will prioritize his national responsibilities, and accepting the Rajasthan Royals proposal would require him to step down from his position as India head coach.
