Indian badminton star PV Sindhu’s campaign at the BWF World Tour Super 500 Arctic Open came to an end in the quarterfinals. The sixth-seeded Indian lost to Thailand’s top seed and former world champion Ratchanok Intanon in a closely contested match that lasted 62 minutes. Intanon secured the opening game 21–11, but Sindhu fought back strongly to take the second game 21–19 and force a decider.
However, Intanon regained control in the final game, winning 21–18 to seal her place in the semifinals. With this victory, the Thai shuttler extended her head-to-head advantage over Sindhu, having now won 11 of their encounters, while the Indian has recorded four victories.
India’s campaign at the tournament also ended in the men’s doubles quarterfinals. The Indian pair of Krishna Prasad and Prithvi Krishna Murthy Roy lost 13–21, 14–21 to Denmark’s Christian Faust and Rasmus. Their defeat marked the end of India’s challenge at the Arctic Open.
