History has been made in Oslo as Indian Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa became the first Indian to win the prestigious Norway Chess tournament. He clinched the title with a dramatic final round victory over Vincent Keymer, finishing with a total of 18 points.
The 20-year-old from Chennai edged Wesley So to secure the championship, delivering a remarkable comeback after early setbacks. Praggnanandhaa recorded classical wins against World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen twice, World Champion D. Gukesh, Alireza Firouzja, and Vincent Keymer. After dropping in the standings early in the tournament, he staged a stunning recovery by winning four consecutive classical games to seal the title.
