After suffering a heavy defeat against India, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly considering strict measures regarding team selection and performance review. An emergency meeting was held soon after the match, where officials expressed serious concern over the team’s performance and discussed the need for structural changes.
Reports suggest that senior players Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi could face exclusion as part of the board’s effort to rebuild the squad based on current form and accountability. The management is believed to be evaluating performances closely to ensure stronger results in upcoming matches.
The selectors are also said to be considering bringing in players like Naseem Shah and Fakhar Zaman, among others, for the next fixture as part of a possible reshuffle. These steps are aimed at regaining balance and improving Pakistan’s competitiveness in the tournament.
