The Serbian star was beaten by Argentina’s Mariano Navone in a thrilling five-set contest, bringing his campaign to an unexpected end. The closely fought encounter lasted nearly four hours, with Navone producing a remarkable performance to claim one of the biggest wins of his career.
Djokovic won the opening set 7-6 but lost the next two sets 5-7 and 4-6. He bounced back strongly to take the fourth set 6-2, raising hopes of a comeback, but Navone dominated the deciding set 6-1 to seal a memorable victory.
