Indian star javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra has suffered a major setback after sustaining an ankle injury. Chopra revealed that he suffered a ligament tear in his ankle during training. After consulting doctors and his team, he decided to withdraw from the remaining competitions of the 2026 season.

The injury rules Chopra out of the Asian Games scheduled for September as well as the Diamond League Final. The Indian star will now focus on recovery and rehabilitation. Fans and the sporting community are hoping for his speedy return to competitive action.
