Javelin star Neeraj Chopra and renowned badminton coach Pullela Gopichand have joined hands to launch the Indian School of Coaching Excellence (ISCE), an initiative aimed at strengthening India’s sports coaching ecosystem. The centre will focus on developing world-class coaches through multidisciplinary programmes covering physical literacy, sports science, sports education, technology and career development.
Neeraj Chopra said a coach plays a crucial role in shaping an athlete’s journey and stressed the importance of providing coaches with access to global knowledge, mentorship and the latest developments in sports science. Gopichand said ISCE aims to combine international best practices with Indian experience and create a platform where coaches can continuously upgrade their skills. The initiative is expected to contribute to India’s long-term sporting ambitions by building a stronger coaching ecosystem.
