During the match, photographs of Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh at the stadium went viral on social media.
According to reports, Nara Lokesh traveled to Colombo along with his friends and Telugu Desam Party leaders to watch the India–Pakistan match. At the stadium, he was seen wearing the Indian jersey, including one bearing his name, and proudly displaying the national flag in support of the team. He also shared photos and videos from the match on his social media accounts, stating that it was a delight to witness in person one of the most anticipated clashes followed by millions of fans.
Following India’s victory, Nara Lokesh extended his congratulations to the team. He praised opener Ishan Kishan for his brilliant 77-run knock, highlighting that his fearless batting played a crucial role in securing the win. He also commended the Indian bowlers for their impressive performance. Stating that the victory further enhanced the nation’s pride, he expressed hope that the team would carry the momentum forward and clinch the T20 World Cup. Ishan Kishan was awarded the Player of the Match for his performance, while India’s emphatic win over Pakistan ensured their qualification for the Super 8 stage.
