Along with him, Matthew Short and Mitchell Owen also return to the 15-man squad after recovering from a side strain and concussion, while Matthew Renshaw has been called up too.

Cricket Australia also announced the T20I squad for the first two matches of the five-match series (Oct 29 – Nov 8), as part of preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
