After the conclusion of IPL 2026, teams are already preparing for major squad changes based on performance, fitness, and cost factors.
Mumbai Indians are likely to make high profile decisions, with players like Hardik Pandya (₹16.35 crore) and Trent Boult (₹12.5 crore reportedly under consideration for release. Senior players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Quinton de Kock, and Shardul Thakur may also face uncertain futures, along with discussions around Rohit Sharma’s role, signaling a possible major overhaul.
Chennai Super Kings are also expected to make bold moves, with Ruturaj Gaikwad (₹18 crore) and Prashant Veer (₹14.20 crore) reportedly on the release list. Lucknow Super Giants may part ways with Rishabh Pant (₹27 crore), Nicholas Pooran (₹21 crore), and injury prone bowlers, while Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad are also planning changes involving key overseas and injury prone players.
