India made a steady start after opting to bat against Australia in a crucial ICC Women’s T20 World Cup clash. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma added a solid 66-run partnership, putting the Australian bowlers under pressure. Shafali scored 34 off 26 balls, including three fours and two sixes, before being dismissed by Sophie Molineux. At the end of 10 overs, India were 74/1.
India suffered another setback when Smriti Mandhana was run out for 38 off 37 balls following a mix-up with Jemimah Rodrigues. After 12 overs, India were 85/2 with Jemimah Rodrigues and captain Harmanpreet Kaur at the crease. The match is crucial for India's semifinal hopes, while Australia, having won all four of their previous matches, are already in a strong position to qualify.
