Lucknow Super Giants kept their slim IPL 2026 playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 9-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a rain-curtailed 19-over contest. Despite entering the match on a six-game losing streak, Lucknow produced a complete performance led by Mitchell Marsh’s explosive 111 off 56 balls. Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant added valuable late runs as LSG posted a massive 209/3. After the Duckworth-Lewis revision, RCB were handed a target of 213 but could only manage 203/6.
RCB suffered an early collapse with Virat Kohli departing for a duck, but Rajat Patidar’s blistering 61 and Tim David’s counterattack kept the chase alive. However, Prince Yadav’s brilliant spell of 3/33 and Shahbaz Ahmed’s crucial breakthroughs turned the game in Lucknow’s favour. Krunal Pandya fought hard in the final overs, but RCB eventually fell short as Lucknow finally ended their losing run in style.
